Welcome to the National School of Optical Biosensors and Biophotonics (BiO&B) – a vibrant Italian initiative designed to promote training, collaboration, and scientific exchange among young researchers in biosensors and photonics.

BiO&B is a biennial event organized by the Biosensors Working Group of the Italian Society of Optics and Photonics (SIOF), a national branch of EOS. In 2026, the Sixth National School will take place on the charming island of Ischia (NA).

This immersive school experience explores the latest breakthroughs in bioreceptors and immobilization techniques, and innovative optical methods leveraging photon–biological matter interactions, with applications spanning biomedicine, agri-food, and environmental sciences.

Audience: PhD students, fellows, and post-doc scientists from universities, research institutions, and private companies.
Participation is limited to 35 participants.
