The Italian Society for Optics and Photonics (SIOF, Società Italiana di Ottica e Fotonica) was founded in 1991 with the goal of promoting the research activities in the field of optics and photonics and coordinate them all over the national territory by favoring the spread of knowledge and the organization of scientific events, schools, conferences, and workshops, with a special emphasis on the formation of young scientists.
The workshop features keynote scientific lectures (open session on December 1st) and hands-on training on both state-of-the-art and custom microscopy platforms at the Nikon Imaging Center @ Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia.
The 5th edition of the International School on Plasmonics and Nano-optics will take place in Arcetri, Florence, bringing together PhD students, early-stage researchers, and leading scientists working on light–matter interactions at the nanoscale.
